In early May, the Turbo 360 team headed to ICC Sydney to cover the Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition for event producer Terrapinn. One of Australia's most significant gatherings in the renewable energy space, this was a busy, high-energy gig that called for sharp photography and fast video turnaround.
About the Event
Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition is produced by Terrapinn in partnership with the Smart Energy Council. Australia's leading and longest running event for the solar, storage and renewable energy sectors, Smart Energy has been the central gathering point for installers, manufacturers, innovators, investors and policy leaders driving Australia's clean energy transformation for more than six decades.
Across two days, more than 12,000 delegates and 130+ exhibitors came together to explore the latest in solar, storage, electrification and smart energy solutions. The conference delivered high-level strategy, practical deployment insight and capital market intelligence, all focused on accelerating the energy transition. The expo floor was packed with working technology on display, from home battery systems and EV chargers to grid-scale storage innovations.
What We Covered
Turbo 360 was engaged by Terrapinn to provide two services across the event day:
- Event photography — capturing the full atmosphere of the conference, from keynote presentations and panel sessions through to delegate networking and exhibitor activations on the show floor.
- Same-day videography — shooting and editing a highlight video for use on the day itself, giving the client a polished piece of content before the event had even wrapped.
Covering an event of this scale means moving quickly between very different environments: the theatre-style main stage, the busy exhibition floor, and the quieter moments of conversation between delegates. Our team planned the day carefully to make sure nothing important was missed.
What We Delivered
For an event of this profile, the photography brief covered a wide range of moments: keynote speakers on stage, audience reactions, exhibitor stands, product demonstrations, and candid networking shots. The goal was a comprehensive photo library that Terrapinn and their exhibitors could use across post-event communications, social media and marketing collateral.
The same-day video was the real time challenge. Our videographer shot and compiled a highlight reel to a tight deadline, ready for use before the day finished. That kind of turnaround demands a clear run-of-show plan, efficient shooting, and fast editing under pressure — exactly the kind of work our team handles regularly.
