Back in the wild old days of 1999, CE Network was born — not out of a business plan, but out of a full-blown, sleep-depriving obsession. Our top dog, James Anderson, was neck-deep in code and caffeine when he whipped up LakeEildon.com — a tourism site that quickly became the unofficial bible of the lake.
Before long, we were the local legends of web design and hosting — making mum-and-dad businesses look like Fortune 500 heavyweights online. But James wasn't content just ruling the digital domain — he had a mic to rock.
Radio? Please. That was just the warm-up act. Soon, everyone knew the name Turbo — whether it was from the Coca-Cola Live & Local Tour, the M-One Music Concert at Etihad Stadium, or just hearing his voice everywhere.
Come 2006, he hung up the headphones (after snagging that #1 ratings spot, mind you) and hit the gas on his other love: video production. Next stop? Managing video for the International Olympic Gymnastics Training Centre in the USA.
Then came the real globe-trotting — Russia, Panama, Alaska, South America — and, just for good measure, running the show on the Celebrity Infinity cruise ship.
By 2009, Turbo landed back in Melbourne, fired up and ready to shake up the media world. That's when CE Network levelled up into Turbo Productions, with a full arsenal of photography, live streaming, virtual tours, and every shiny gadget a media crew could want.
These days, Turbo Productions is a full-blown content beast — covering Australia, New Zealand and now Singapore, turning chaotic events into scroll-stopping content same-day, every day.
