A moment arrives at Entally Estate when the chapel empties, the newlyweds step out among gardens planted before Queen Victoria took the throne, and two hundred years of the place seem to lean in for the photograph. Built in 1819 for the Reibey family at Hadspen, ten minutes from Launceston, Entally is the rare venue that offers a colonial homestead, its own chapel, vineyards, historic outbuildings and what is regarded as Australia's oldest conservatory — all inside one boundary fence.

A chapel, a conservatory and the vines: mapping your day across the estate
Entally weddings are progressive by nature. Ceremonies run in the estate chapel or outdoors for up to 200 guests; drinks drift through the gardens; receptions for up to 150 settle into the historic spaces or a marquee against the vines. Photographically, that's four lighting environments in one day — the chapel's dim, reverent interior, open garden sun, the glasshouse glow of the conservatory, and tungsten-warm evenings — and we carry a kit built for all of them.
Regency glass: the conservatory portrait nobody else can offer
Australia's oldest conservatory deserves its own heading. Shooting a couple inside that Regency-era glass and greenery is a frame available literally nowhere else in the country.
Nine hours of event time, and how we'd spend them
The estate's packages run to nine hours with music wrapping by 11.30pm, which is generous enough for a full documentary arc: preparations, ceremony, a long unhurried portrait session through the gardens and vineyard rows, golden hour on the homestead lawn, speeches, and a properly covered dance floor. We build the timeline with your coordinator so portraits never fight the kitchen's schedule. Couples choosing between in-house and external caterers, take note — either way, we photograph the tables styled and the first plates out, because Tasmanian produce photographs like it tastes.

Ten minutes from the city but entirely removed from it, Entally hosts corporate dinners, product launches and retreat days that want heritage gravity in their imagery. Long-table dinners among historic outbuildings, brand launches in the gardens, leadership groups photographed against 1819 brickwork — we shoot them with the same care as the weddings, deliver full galleries in 48 hours, and can cut a short film that will outperform every stock-image slide your company has ever produced.

Can we photograph inside the conservatory and homestead?+
Access arrangements vary with your booking and the estate's operations, so we confirm interiors with the venue during planning. When the conservatory is available it anchors the portrait session; when it isn't, the gardens, chapel exterior and vineyard rows carry the day comfortably.
What's the wet-weather photography plan?+
Entally is unusually rain-proof: the chapel, conservatory and historic interiors give sheltered variety most outdoor venues can't answer. Some of our favourite estate frames involve umbrellas on the garden paths — light rain on old glass is not a disaster, it's an aesthetic.
How far in advance should we walk the grounds with you?+
Ideally at your final venue meeting, four to eight weeks out, at the same hour as your ceremony. The estate spans both sides of the old highway at Hadspen, so agreeing the portrait route in advance saves precious minutes on the day.
Do you cover both ceremony and reception if they're in different estate spaces?+
Always — moving between chapel, gardens and reception space is normal here and built into our quote. Two photographers are recommended over 120 guests so cocktail hour candids don't disappear while portraits happen among the vines.
