The Great Room and the studios upstairs
More than 1,100 square metres of event space sits inside the hotel, anchored by the Great Room — around 595 square metres, up to 600 theatre-style, dividing into three sections for breakout formats. It's a saturated, high-design room, all bold W styling rather than beige ballroom, and we photograph it accordingly: embracing the coloured LED schemes rather than neutralising them, holding accurate skin tones inside a magenta-lit gala without flattening the atmosphere. That's a genuine technical skill, and it's the difference between coverage that looks like the event felt and coverage that looks colour-corrected to death.
The three studios — two opening onto terraces — handle boardroom sessions and intimate dinners, and their natural light makes them our pick for executive headshots during conference breaks.
From river light to LED: planning the shot sequence
W Brisbane events usually straddle levels, so we sequence coverage around the light. Terraces and the WET Deck get golden hour: group frames, VIP portraits, the hero skyline shot with panoramic views stretching from South Bank to Mt Coot-tha. The Living Room Bar picks up relaxed candids as guests move down. Then the Great Room takes over after dark, when its lighting design peaks. What's realistic for a same-day highlight reel?+
If the event wraps by 9pm, a 60-second cut can be with you before midnight — rooftop arrivals, room reveal, speeches, dance floor. We stage the edit on site, so the reel is ready while your hashtag is still moving.
