The Ballroom runs 431 square metres — 500 theatre-style, 550 for cocktails — and the Mt Pleasant Showroom is nearly the same footprint again at 411 square metres, with its own stage and bar. The Ballroom, the Showroom and a 45-booth trade floor
The Ballroom takes up to 45 two-by-two-metre exhibition booths, and exhibition light is always mixed — booth LEDs fighting house downlights. We photograph sponsor activations and exhibitor stands early, before the aisles fill, then return at peak traffic for the energy frames sponsors actually use. Over in the Mt Pleasant Showroom, keynotes and awards presentations get genuinely theatrical lighting: flattering on speakers, brutal on auto-exposure. We meter for the stage wash and hold detail in the room, so your keynote photos don't come back as silhouettes against a blown-out screen.
Conference days that end on the casino floor
Country Club Tasmania is Launceston's resort casino, and evening functions here have a distinct rhythm — delegates drift between the gala and the gaming floor, and the best candid material lives in that in-between hour. We structure coverage in blocks: formalities and speeches first, roaming candids after. For awards nights seating 230 banquet-style in the Ballroom, we run two shooters — one on the stage handshake, one on the winner's walk-up — so nobody's big moment arrives as the back of a head.
Group photos on 125 hectares

Yes — that's the standard brief for larger conferences here. We assign a shooter to each room and coordinate on a shared run sheet, so plenary sessions, breakouts and the trade floor are covered in parallel rather than in a rushed rotation. Video and stills teams can split the same way.
How do you handle the Showroom's stage lighting?+
We expose for the performer, not the room, and shoot test frames during rehearsal or soundcheck whenever access allows. Fast lenses and careful white balance keep skin tones honest under warm stage wash, and we avoid on-camera flash so the production design reads the way your AV team intended.
Where do the delegate headshots happen?+
We stage a portrait station in the foyer area outside the Ballroom with studio lighting, so delegates can walk in between sessions. On resort-scale bookings we can also shoot executive portraits outdoors against the bushland — five minutes' walk, a completely different look.
Can we get a same-day edit of the gala?+
